50 Top Money Keywords
50 Top Money Keywords
PageRank Tools has compiled a list of 50 keyword phrases related to SEO or “search engine optimization” that PageRank Tools would consider to be the top “money words”. For various reasons, including the fact that people searching for these keywords have brought me traffic and “conversions”, I’ve have kept these search engine marketing keywords a little “close” to my heart. But I've decided to release the list and hope everyone enjoys it. To make it a little easier to post this list, I’ve decided to post it in a few parts. Here is the first part of the list, in no particular order.:
search engine advertising
search engine marketing
search engine optimization
search engine optimization seo
search engine optimization services
search engine optimization software
search engine placement
search engine positioning
search engine promotion
search engine ranking
search engine rankings
search engine submission
search engine submissions
search optimization
seo agency
seo company
seo consultant
seo friendly
seo guide
seo help
seo marketig
seo optimization
seo program

seo search engine
Keep in mind that I have used these SEO-related keywords for different purposes at different times, but have always used them during a PPC campaign or even as a reference when I’m writing SEO articles, or even just body copy for a search engine optimization website. Such as PageRank Tools.
I find that when someone searches for one of these keyword phrases, they’re looking for more information about search engine optimization and want either more information about it or they are looking for SEO-related services.
There are many ways that this keyword list could be helpful to you if you’re a search engine marketer. The obvious use would first be to use it in a PPC (pay per click) campaign. You could also use these keywords if you were a trying to sell search engine optimization services on your own site: integrate these keywords into title tags, meta tags, and, of course, the body copy. You could also go through the list and write a definition of each one and create a site based on seo (now, theres a great quick way to put together a seo related blog!).
The second part of the list follows below. seo service
seo services
seo software
seo solutions
seo strategy
seo target marketing
seo techniques
seo technology
seo tips
seo tool
seo tools
seo training
seo website
seo site builder
seo website builder
top search engine ranking
web optimization
web seo
website seo
website optimization
increase traffic
increased traffic
increase website traffic
affordable seo
organic seo
Another use might be to add your location (e.g., New York seo service) to search for someone near you who performs these services. The possibilities are endless. Good luck, have fun with this list.

10 Essential Steps to Developing a Successful E-Mail Marketing
10 Essential Steps to Developing a Successful E-Mail Marketing Campaign
August 14th, 2007 - Category: E-Mail Marketing, Articles - Be the first to comment
Copyright © by Fabian Lim
Developing and executing a successful e-mail marketing
campaign is becoming more challenging. The SPAM problem
isn’t improving and laws are tightening their grip on
e-mail marketing.
So, you need to carefully develop your e-mail marketing
campaign with great care.
Here are 10 steps you can use to develop a successful
e-mail marketing campaign:
Step #1 - Define the purpose of your e-mail campaign
Whilst this step may seem pretty obvious, you will be
surprised at how many e-mail marketing campaigns are
carried out without a clear purpose or goal.
This is especially prevalent with online newsletters or
e-zines - many don’t provide the reader any valuable or
useful information.
So, start your e-mail campaign right - by first defining a
clear purpose or goal.
Step #2 - Develop a clear call to action
A call to action is a specific set of instruction(s)
contained within the e-mail with the sole purpose of
leading the reader to take a specific action.
Here’s an example of a call to action:
“Click here to download your free Special Report”
With the introduction of the CAN-SPAM act and advancement
in SPAM filter technology, it is difficult enough these
days to get your e-mail pass SPAM filters, yet alone opened
and finally read.
It would be a sheer waste of time for both your reader and
yourself if you didn’t create a clear call to action in
your e-mail.
Step #3 - Personalize your e-mail message
Use your full name in the From: field rather than your
company’s name.
And use your recipient’s name in the subject line.
This will increase the “open rate” of your e-mail (The
“open rate” is the percentage of e-mails opened against
e-mails successfully delivered), because recipients will
more likely open and read e-mails from people they
recognize.
Personalization will also reduce the probability of the
e-mail being mistaken as SPAM.
Step #4 - Develop an interesting subject line
It’s true.
First impressions DO count in e-mail marketing!
If you have an important e-mail you want your reader to
open and read, you need to develop an interesting subject
line to woo your readers attention.
The reason’s really simple.
If your subject line does not appeal to the reader, your
e-mail will not get opened and your e-mail campaign will
fail miserably.
And remember not exceed 40 characters when developing your
subject line.
Step #5 - Remind your subscribers where and when they
opted-in
If you do not e-mail your subscribers very often, say once
every fortnight, it would be good to remind them where and
when they opted-in, right at the top of your e-mail.
In e-mail marketing, the popular axiom, “Out of Sight, Out
of Mind” bears much truth.
Don’t expect your subscribers to remember where and when
they opted-in to receive information from you if you’re not
in frequent contact with them.
If they can’t recall when they opted-in to your list and
you fail remind them - don’t be surprised if they scream
“SPAM”!
Step #6 - Provide an unsubscribe link
In e-mail marketing, you should never ever hold anyone
hostage.
You’d rather settle for happy unsubscribers than angry
subscribers, right?
So, provide your readers with an easy and convenient method
to unsubscribe.
They’ll sleep more soundly at night and so will you.
Step # 7 - Check and test your e-mail
You’ve spent a great deal of time crafting your e-mail.
So it is a good practice to check through your e-mail to
make sure you do not overlook the following:
1) Spell check your e-mail
2) SPAM check your e-mail
3) Test all e-mail links
4) Double-check mail merge codes (if any)
e.g. $firstname$ vs. {FIRSTNAME} (especially if you’re
sending out the same e-mail
using different autoresponder software)
Step #8 - Use fixed-pitch font and proper formatting
Use a fixed-pitch font like Courier and perform a hard
carriage return at the end of each line at 60 characters to
avoid formatting problems.
Step #9 - Track all e-mail links
This is an often over-looked step. Tracking your e-mail
links will allow you to gain valuable insights and discover
what works and what doesn’t.
Use the tracking information to refine your future e-mail
marketing campaigns.
Step #10 - KISS (Keep It Simple and Short)
Lastly, keep your e-mails simple and short.
The more e-mail content you create, the higher the chance
of triggering the SPAM filters.
If possible, use e-mail marketing to Pre-Sell, not Sell.
Follow these 10 steps in your next e-mail marketing
campaign and watch your campaign results skyrocket!

7 Habits of Highly Effective Bloggers

Blogging is IN!
And it’s here to stay!
Blogs are easy to set up and use.
And you can create a good blog by writing out the thoughts that roam in your mind and presto - and you’ll be blogging like a pro before you even know it!
Here are 7 essential habits you should develop if you want to be a highly effective blogger:
Blogging Habit #1 - Determine Your Purpose
Highly effective bloggers blog with a clear purpose in mind.
So decide on a purpose for your blog.
Blogs exist to filter information, organize business information, share news and profitable content, establish professional identities and bonds, discuss social issues, or muse about life in general.
Beginning in a focused manner is one of the best ways to start a blog.
And knowing your ‘mission’ will help you accomplish more with your blog.
Blogging Habit #2 - Define Your Audience
Highly effective bloggers understand their target audience.
Their wants, needs, likes and dislikes, and possible reactions and responses.
So always reflect on your anticipated audience.
You conduct yourself differently with friends than you will with professional associates, strangers, customers, or family members.
Knowing who you’re writing to beforehand, allows you to adopt acceptable and appropriate tones in your blog journals.
Blogging Habit #3 - Blog With Passion
Blog with passion!
And the best way to achieve this is to write on a topic you are most passionate about.
And the more you’re passionate about a topic, the more it’ll show in your writing.
Remember, a blog is the place for voicing opinions - Your Opinions!
So, engage your readers with a passion and make your writing interesting.
Blogging Habit #4 - Blog Frequently
Highly effective bloggers understand the importance of blogging frequently.
Your aim, as a blogger, is to get interested readers to return to your site to see the latest scoop, what’s new and what’s not, the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’.
To this end, aim to post several times a week.
If not, at least once a week.
Frequent posting creates dialogue that invites your readers to return to your blog.
It will increase the ’stickiness’ of your blog i.e. the ability to attract returning visitors.
And they’ll keep coming back if they like what you write about.
Blogging Habit #5 - Blog Honestly
Credibility counts, so be honest.
Respect your audience and all bloggers.
Words can live forever on the net so be courteous too.
Manners never go out of style.
Ethics and integrity are necessary and keep your own standards high.
So stick to them!
Blogging Habit #6 - Encourage Interactivity
Blogs should not be a ‘one-way’ communication tool.
As far as possible, always encourage feedback by encouraging your readers to comment on your blog postings.
Allow your readers to air their own views.
Whether or not they agree with you.
Turn your blog into a virtual community and platform for exchanging of ideas, views and opinions.
Blogging Habit #7 - Link to Other Blogs
Highly effective bloggers understand the importance and value of linking.
Linking to other blogs allow your readers to expand their realm of knowledge and experience beyond what you can offer.
Because you want your readers to have more than a ’single’ opinion of the topic in question.
And readers will appreciate your openness and reward you through return visits to your blog.
Bloggers actually amplify each other’s voices when they cross-link with each other, forming a grassroots network of information sharing that can form social alliances.
Most blog audiences start with small numbers, but with frequent and regularly scheduled updates, your audience should grow.
Put into practice these 7 blogging habits and transform yourself into a highly effective blogger starting today!

Internet Marketing - How To Become Fulltime Right Now
if you are willing to put in the work and invest in the knowledge Internet Marketing can prove to be a very profitable endeavor. In fact it can replace your fulltime job in no time. Working part time on your internet business can drastically increase the time it takes to become successful. Below I have provided steps you can follow to quite your job and work fulltime from home.
The transition is not an easy one. You will not be paid hourly or on a monthly salary. In fact you really have no idea how much you are going to earn each day online. Sales fluctuate daily, which is a main reason many people are afraid to take that fulltime plunge into internet marketing.
Before you actually take that plunge there a few calculations you need to make. Calculate how much you make at your current job. Translate that into how much you make per day, and then per month.
After that you need to calculate how much it takes to sustain your type of living. Factor in your bills, mortgage, etc. Translate that into a monthly total and how much per day. (Divide it by 30).
Your primary goal is to make enough to cover how much you made at your previous job. The second calculation is how much you MUST earn online every month to survive.
Now that you know how much you need to make, you have to find out how to make it. I suggest creating an info-product such as an "how-to" ebook. If you haven't already you need to. If you are unsure how to create an ebook there are a few guides online you can check out.
The goal is to find out how you really REALLY make money online.
Selling information is one way to do it.
After your sales page is up you want to focus on making enough sales everyday to match what you made at your fulltime job everyday.
It honestly isn't as hard as it seems. Once you start making one sell per day, just keep doing what you did to make the one sale, but more of it to generate more sales.
I used this method to convert my internet marketing efforts fulltime, and haven't looked back sense. So work hard and follow the above steps to quit your day job and work from home fulltime

SEO "Don'ts": 20 Fatal Mistakes You Must Avoid To Succeed
SEO "Don'ts": 20 Fatal Mistakes You Must Avoid To Succeed
Small Business SEO Checklist: The Don'ts
1. Don't reply to the SEO spam you get via e-mail. You don't need to submit to 1,000 search engines or 500 directories. You can't buy 2,000 quality links for $50. And no reputable SEO can guarantee a number one ranking on any search engine for keywords that matter. The kind of SEO company you want to hire doesn't send out spam.
2. Don't wait too long to implement SEO. Whether you're launching a new Web site or upgrading your current site, SEO considerations should be part of the discussion from day one.
3. Don't take your decision to hire an SEO company too lightly. Hiring an SEO company is not like choosing a company to service your copy machine. Online marketing can make or break your company, so choosing a vendor should involve a lot of research and questions with the companies you're considering.
4. Don't hire an SEO company and then divorce yourself from the process. It's your job to know and understand as much as possible about the strategies and tactics your SEO company will be using. If your SEO company uses high-risk tactics and your site gets caught, you'll be the one paying the price.
5. Don't spread your content over several domains. There are times when sub-domains or an additional domain might make sense, but those occasions should be dominated by user and content considerations, not an attempt to get multiple domains/sites listed in the SERPs. Know the pros and cons of using sub-domains and additional domains.
6. Don't waste your time submitting your URL to search engines. The crawler-based search engines will find your site more quickly as soon as you get a link from another web site already being crawled. Search engine submission died a few years ago.
7. Don't make your web site uncrawlable. This can result from an incorrect robots.txt file, having session IDs or too many variables in your URLs, using a convoluted navigation menu that spiders can't (or won't) follow, or developing an all-Flash, all-graphic, or all-AJAX site.
8. Don't target overly general keywords. A real estate agency in Wichita has no shot at ranking for the phrase "real estate;" a lawyer in Fresno has no shot at ranking for the word "lawyer." Optimize for relevant, specific keywords that will bring targeted traffic.
9. Don't stuff keywords in your meta tags, image alt tags, etc. That is so 1996-97. Today, it's called spam.
10. Don't stuff keywords in your page footer with lightly-colored or hidden text. That is so 1998-99. Today, it's also called spam.
11. Don't have the same title element on every page. Variety is the spice of life and, combined with relevance, is a pre-requisite to avoiding duplicate content issues and Google's supplemental index.
12. Don't allow both www.yourdomain.com and domain.com to resolve to your home page. Those are two separate addresses to a search engine, and that means you have the same content at two addresses. On a related note, don't link to your home page with a URL like www.yourdomain.com/index.html—that's also a separate address from www.yourdomain.com and will also look like duplicate content.
13. Don't ignore usability. Things like proper site structure, logical navigation, descriptive link text, etc., are good for both users and search engine spiders.
14. Don't give up on creating great content because you think your customers don't need or want it, or because your product or service doesn't lend itself to great content. No matter what business you're in, you can add great (linkable) content to your web site. A glossary is an easy way to create a page of great, keyword-rich content. Also consider a frequently asked questions page, a testimonials page, how to articles, product support manuals and so on.
15. Don't develop an unbalanced link profile. Too many small business owners, knowing links are important, immediately begin trading links with any and every site they can find. Not a good idea. Reciprocal links aren't bad by default, but if most of your inbound links are the result of link trades, they won't help much. Reciprocal links should only be made with quality, relevant web sites, and should only represent a fraction of your overall link profile.
16. Don't request the same exact anchor text on all links to your site. This is an obvious sign of unnatural link building. Your link building should look natural, and varied anchor text will help.
17. Don't plaster your link all over blog comments, guestbooks, etc. That's called spamming, not SEO.
18. Don't fret over keyword density. Yes, your target keyword and closely-related terms should appear in the page title, description meta tag, and page copy. No, a calculator is not an SEO tool.
19. Don't obsess over Google PageRank. What you see in the toolbar is several months old, and doesn't affect rankings like it used to. PageRank is now more about crawl frequency and depth, and whether a page is stored in the main index or supplemental index.
20. Don't check your rankings every day. They're going to change whether you look or not. Better to spend time improving your web site rather than watching it flutter up and down the SERPs.
This list could continue well beyond these 20 "don'ts." Your additions are welcome in the comments.

Do-It-Yourself Keyword Research
You can’t start an article marketing campaign without knowing what keywords and phrases you want to rank for. If you’ve got a professional SEO firm working for you, there’s no reason to worry. But it’s often a catch-22: SEO services are expensive. And some start-ups don’t have the capital.
Luckily, keyword research is something you can do on your own. Here are five steps to make it happen.
Step 1: Know thyself. What products, services, qualities, or concepts do you want your business or site to be known for? What are your customers likely to type when they look for you online? The first step of any keyword research project involves a little brainstorming.
Think about what you would type into a search engine if you were looking for a site like yours. List every product or service you offer. Each is a potential keyword.
It can also be a good idea to check in with customers and potential customers for good ideas. If you have a list of customers already, consider sending out a survey asking about their search habits. If you don’t, head into forums for people who’d buy your services. There may be some people online who wouldn’t mind answering your survey, particularly if you offer a discount.
Step 2: Research your competitors. What keywords are your competitors targeting? Choose a few of your best-known competitors. Go to their websites, and check out their web content. Do a few select phrases repeat themselves? Do a few online searches and see what keywords and phrases they turn up for. You may get some ideas that hadn’t occurred to you before.
Step 3: Use a research tool. There are many keyword-research tools out there, and they’re all different. Some are free, while others require membership fees. And some have more of a data share than others.
Basic keyword research tools measure the amount of times a term has been searched for, usually in the last month, and the number of hits that come up in a search for that term. They’ll also offer suggestions for other keywords. More in-depth analysis will help you figure out which phrases are the highest earners; the difficulty for ranking in those terms; predictions for numbers of searches in the next month; and more.
Step 4: General or specific? You decide. The most popular keywords are generally the toughest to rank for. They may bring great financial reward, but you’ll be battling big companies with deep pockets to get there. Other search terms may bring fewer visitors, but you’ll be able to rank for them much more easily.
So do you want to be a generalist, or do you want to zero in on more obscure phrases? It depends on what words fit your business and your marketing budget. If your company sells organic cat food, you may be best off using a search term like “gluten-free cat food” instead of a more general term like “cat food.” Then again, a more general term may truly suit your business better—but competition may be too tight on your top words. In these cases, it’s often best to target the more obscure terms first, and work your way up.
Once you’ve targeted your keywords, you can literally build a website or design an article marketing campaign around them. Know your keywords, and you’ll be able to design an SEO campaign that will bring your business to the next level.

Articles and Blog Combination Is Very Powerful Marketing
Articles and Blog Combination Is Very Powerful Marketing
(Source) That is wrong. Go to rentacoder.com, or elance.com, or any of the other sites that cater to ghostwriter services, and you will find people seeking high quality articles of 500 words or more, yet they are only willing to pay $1 - maybe $2 at most.
These are people who have no idea of how articles can be used to enhance your SEO efforts. The main reason why I say that is this: If you can get someone to write a high quality, 500 word article for peanuts, then you are dealing with an idiot. Idiots do not write high quality articles. They are idiots.
This is a bit harsh, but I’ll have to agree. Article marketing itself is a time-consuming art. You can’t rush it and you certainly don’t want to try to rush results. I’d have to that while article marketing is an effective way to market your online business, it is much more effective to combine article marketing with blogging. Both of these methods on their own are effective, but together they are very powerful.
To be maximally effective, you should put a link to your website and to your blog in all of your article author bios. Use your blog as a way to communicate with potential customers in a way that builds your credibility and gives your readers valuable knowledge that they can use. You don’t want to tell them everything you know about your subject, but you do want to tell them as much as you can and by providing the most in-depth knowledge of your topic that you can part with you ensure that you are giving your readers a reason to believe that you are the expert. Both articles and blogs improve your credibility quotient and when used together they are very powerful.

The Importance of Backlinks
If you've read anything about or studied Search Engine Optimization, you've come across the term "backlink" at least once. For those of you new to SEO, you may be wondering what a backlink is, and why they are important. Backlinks have become so important to the scope of Search Engine Optimization, that they have become some of the main building blocks to good SEO. In this article, we will explain to you what a backlink is, why they are important, and what you can do to help gain them while avoiding getting into trouble with the Search Engines.
What are "backlinks"? Backlinks are links that are directed towards your website. Also knows as Inbound links (IBL's). The number of backlinks is an indication of the popularity or importance of that website. Backlinks are important for SEO because some search engines, especially Google, will give more credit to websites that have a good number of quality backlinks, and consider those websites more relevant than others in their results pages for a search query.
When search engines calculate the relevance of a site to a keyword, they consider the number of QUALITY inbound links to that site. So we should not be satisfied with merely getting inbound links, it is the quality of the inbound link that matters.
A search engine considers the content of the sites to determine the QUALITY of a link. When inbound links to your site come from other sites, and those sites have content related to your site, these inbound links are considered more relevant to your site. If inbound links are found on sites with unrelated content, they are considered less relevant. The higher the relevance of inbound links, the greater their quality.
For example, if a webmaster has a website about how to rescue orphaned kittens, and received a backlink from another website about kittens, then that would be more relevant in a search engine's assessment than say a link from a site about car racing. The more relevant the site is that is linking back to your website, the better the quality of the backlink.
Search engines want websites to have a level playing field, and look for natural links built slowly over time. While it is fairly easy to manipulate links on a web page to try to achieve a higher ranking, it is a lot harder to influence a search engine with external backlinks from other websites. This is also a reason why backlinks factor in so highly into a search engine's algorithm. Lately, however, a search engine's criteria for quality inbound links has gotten even tougher, thanks to unscrupulous webmasters trying to achieve these inbound links by deceptive or sneaky techniques, such as with hidden links, or automatically generated pages whose sole purpose is to provide inbound links to websites. These pages are called link farms, and they are not only disregarded by search engines, but linking to a link farm could get your site banned entirely.
Another reason to achieve quality backlinks is to entice visitors to come to your website. You can't build a website, and then expect that people will find your website without pointing the way. You will probably have to get the word out there about your site. One way webmasters got the word out used to be through reciprocal linking. Let's talk about reciprocal linking for a moment.
There is much discussion in these last few months about reciprocal linking. In the last Google update, reciprocal links were one of the targets of the search engine's latest filter. Many webmasters had agreed upon reciprocal link exchanges, in order to boost their site's rankings with the sheer number of inbound links. In a link exchange, one webmaster places a link on his website that points to another webmasters website, and vice versa. Many of these links were simply not relevant, and were just discounted. So while the irrelevant inbound link was ignored, the outbound links still got counted, diluting the relevancy score of many websites. This caused a great many websites to drop off the Google map.
We must be careful with our reciprocal links. There is a Google patent in the works that will deal with not only the popularity of the sites being linked to, but also how trustworthy a site is that you link to from your own website. This will mean that you could get into trouble with the search engine just for linking to a bad apple. We could begin preparing for this future change in the search engine algorithm by being choosier with which we exchange links right now. By choosing only relevant sites to link with, and sites that don't have tons of outbound links on a page, or sites that don't practice black-hat SEO techniques, we will have a better chance that our reciprocal links won't be discounted.
Many webmasters have more than one website. Sometimes these websites are related, sometimes they are not. You have to also be careful about interlinking multiple websites on the same IP. If you own seven related websites, then a link to each of those websites on a page could hurt you, as it may look like to a search engine that you are trying to do something fishy. Many webmasters have tried to manipulate backlinks in this way; and too many links to sites with the same IP address is referred to as backlink bombing.
One thing is certain: interlinking sites doesn't help you from a search engine standpoint. The only reason you may want to interlink your sites in the first place might be to provide your visitors with extra resources to visit. In this case, it would probably be okay to provide visitors with a link to another of your websites, but try to keep many instances of linking to the same IP address to a bare minimum. One or two links on a page here and there probably won't hurt you.
There are a few things to consider when beginning your backlink building campaign. It is helpful to keep track of your backlinks, to know which sites are linking back to you, and how the anchor text of the backlink incorporates keywords relating to your site. A tool to help you keep track of your backlinks is the Domain Stats Tool. This tool displays the backlinks of a domain in Google, Yahoo, and MSN. It will also tell you a few other details about your website, like your listings in the Open Directory, or DMOZ, from which Google regards backlinks highly important; Alexa traffic rank, and how many pages from your site that have been indexed, to name just a few.
Another tool to help you with your link building campaign is the Backlink Builder Tool. It is not enough just to have a large number of inbound links pointing to your site. Rather, you need to have a large number of QUALITY inbound links. This tool searches for websites that have a related theme to your website which are likely to add your link to their website. You specify a particular keyword or keyword phrase, and then the tool seeks out related sites for you. This helps to simplify your backlink building efforts by helping you create quality, relevant backlinks to your site, and making the job easier in the process.
There is another way to gain quality backlinks to your site, in addition to related site themes: anchor text. When a link incorporates a keyword into the text of the hyperlink, we call this quality anchor text. A link's anchor text may be one of the under-estimated resources a webmaster has. Instead of using words like "click here" which probably won't relate in any way to your website, using the words "Please visit our tips page for how to nurse an orphaned kitten" is a far better way to utilize a hyperlink. A good tool for helping you find your backlinks and what text is being used to link to your site is the Backlink Anchor Text Analysis Tool. If you find that your site is being linked to from another website, but the anchor text is not being utilized properly, you should request that the website change the anchor text to something incorporating relevant keywords. This will also help boost your quality backlinks score.

Top 10 Low-Cost Or Free Ways To Promote
Promote Your Small Business
Top 10 Low-Cost Or Free Ways To Promote Your Small Business
By Margie Fisher
Whether you have been in business for years or are just starting out, marketing your business is always critical to your business success. Here are my Top 10 ways to promote your business inexpensively:
1. Send an E-mail newsletter.
This is my top marketing tool. All this costs you is your time, but the benefits can be huge. You will be perceived as an expert, and you may get direct business or referrals from people who see your name often. You can send your newsletter once a week, twice a month or once a month. Just make sure to keep to a schedule. And offer information to help your readers, as well as promotion for your business. Tip: for those of you who hate to write, there are lots of people who will do the writing for you, inexpensively. Check out Guru.com and FreelanceWriting.com.
2. Offer your product for free.
A local chocolate manufacturer I know carries around gold chocolate coins wherever he goes. Letting others sample his delectable product is a great way to promote his business. If you provide a professional service, such as law or marketing services, offer a special report or some of your time for free. An initial phone or in-person hour to 1 hour consultation should be standard.
3. Co-market with complementary businesses.
Share costs and prospect lists with a complementary, non-competing business. For instance, if you are a realtor, you could share the cost of a direct mail postcard with a mortgage company. Or put links to a complementary business site on your Web site, and ask the other business to do the same.
4. Offer a money-back guarantee.
This is an extremely powerful strategy, and one you can offer on both products and services. While most businesses are afraid that many people will ask for their money back, studies have shown that only a handful of people will ever take you up on this offer (unless, of course, you have a truly defective product or service). Offering this guarantee lets others know you stand behind your product or service, and is basically a risk-free proposition for prospects, which is a strong motivator to buy.
5. Speak to groups about your product/service.
In your local area alone there are probably hundreds of business, community and social groups that are looking for speakers. Many of these groups offer excellent opportunities for you to showcase your expertise while providing valuable information. Find groups that contain your target market, and speak to them about something that interests them, and relates to your business. You will be perceived as an expert and may get business or referrals.
6. Use testimonials.
What's more powerful you tooting your own horn or someone else tooting it? I think you know the answer. Use testimonials as much as possible in marketing materials, on your Web site, during promotional activities.
7. Send a personal thank-you note and/or gift.
Most people feel like they are under-appreciated. And have you ever known anyone who got mad when you thanked him or her? E-mail thank-you notes are fine, and hand-written, snail-mail notes are even better. You have to decide whether or not to send a gift some industries or businesses are not allowed to accept gifts. But a thank-you note is always welcome.
8. Remember birthdays.
I can think of only one company that sends me a birthday card every year. It's a local spa that offers me a 20% discount on spa services during the month of my birthday. And every year I use it, even though I have several other spa clients. The moral of this story? Everyone likes to be remembered on their special day.
9. Donate to charity.
You have lots of options here. First, you can sponsor an event or a local kids' sports team. You can donate your products or services for a silent or live auction. You can donate services or products that charities use, such as printing services and food. All of these ideas help you brand your business and establish you as a contributor to the community, and studies have shown that people would rather do business with people who help the community. Plus it's the right thing to do.
10. Get nominated for an award.
This guarantees publicity (as award nominees and winners are always published) and cements your credibility as a solid member of the community. Many awards are offered through business and industry-specific groups, but don't forget civic awards. Plus, research shows that people would rather do business with people who help the community.
Implementing these ideas will help you increase sales. So start today!

Six Key Components Of An Online Marketing Campaign
Six Key Components Of An Online Marketing Campaign
By SEOJoe
Companies have many options for communicating with prospective customers. The Internet has become the primary medium for reaching potential clients anywhere across the globe. With advent of search and popular brands like Google and Yahoo, the Internet is an excellent source to obtain new clients and build your bottom line as well as build your brand beyond your wildest dreams.
Let us begin by outlining the primary components of Online Marketing:
1. SEO / Search Engine Optimization:
SEO is short for search engine optimization, the process of increasing the amount of visitors to a Web site by ranking high in the search results of a search engine. The higher a Web site ranks in the results of a search, the greater the chance that that site will be visited by a user. It is common practice for Internet users to not click through pages and pages of search results, so where a site ranks in a search is essential for directing more traffic toward the site.
SEO helps to ensure that a site is accessible to a search engine and improves the chances that the site will be found by the search engine.
2. PPC / Pay Per Click:
Pay per click (PPC) is an advertising technique used on websites, advertising networks, and search engines.
Advertisers bid on "keywords" that they believe their target market (people they think would be interested in their offer) would type in the search bar when they are looking for their type of product or service. For example, if an advertiser sells red widgets, he/she would bid on the keyword "red widgets", hoping a user would type those words in the search bar, see their ad, click on it and buy. These ads are called "sponsored links" or "sponsored ads" and appear next to and sometimes above the natural or organic results on the page. The advertiser pays only when the user clicks on the ad.
While many companies exist in this space, Google AdWords and Yahoo! Search Marketing, which was formerly Overture, are the largest network operators as of 2006. In the spring of 2006, MSN started beta testing their own PPC service, MSN adCenter. Depending on the search engine, minimum prices per click start at US$0.01 (up to US$0.50). Very popular search terms can cost much more on popular engines. Abuse of the pay per click model can result in click fraud.
3. Pay Per Inclusion
Paid inclusion is a search engine marketing product where the search engine company charges fees related to inclusion of websites in their search index. Paid inclusion products are provided by most search engine companies, the most notable exception being Google.
The fee structure is both a filter against superfluous submissions and a revenue generator. Typically, the fee covers an annual subscription for one webpage, which will automatically be cataloged on a regular basis. A per-click fee may also apply. Each search engine is different. Some sites allow only paid inclusion, although these have had little success. More frequently, many search engines, like Yahoo!, mix paid inclusion (per-page and per-click fee) with results from web crawling. Others, like Google (and a little recently, Ask.com), do not let webmasters pay to be in their search engine listing (advertisements are shown separately and labeled as such).
Some detractors of paid inclusion allege that it causes searches to return results based more on the economic standing of the interests of a web site, and less on the relevancy of that site to end-users.
Often the line between pay per click advertising and paid inclusion is debatable. Some have lobbied for any paid listings to be labeled as an advertisement, while defenders insist they are not actually ads since the webmasters do not control the content of the listing, its ranking, or even whether it is shown to any users. Another advantage of paid inclusion is that it allows site owners to specify particular schedules for crawling pages. In the general case, one has no control as to when their page will be crawled or added to a search engine index. Paid inclusion proves to be particularly useful for cases where pages are dynamically generated and frequently modified.
Paid inclusion is a search engine marketing method in itself, but also a tool of search engine optimization, since experts and firms can test out different approaches to improving ranking, and see the results often within a couple of days, instead of waiting weeks or months. Knowledge gained this way can be used to optimize other web pages, without paying the search engine company.
4. Banner Advertising Programs
Cost Per Impression (CPI) / Cost Per Thousand (CPM), Cost per Action (CPA) / Cost Per Click (CPC)
The web banner or banner ad form of online advertising entails embedding an advertisement into a web page. It is intended to attract traffic to a website by linking them to the web site of the advertiser. Banner Ad programs can be structured into any of the following types of programs.
Cost Per Impression is a phrase often used in online advertising and marketing related to web traffic. It is used for measuring the worth and cost of a specific e-marketing campaign. This technique is applied with web banners, text links, e-mail spam, and opt-in e-mail advertising, although opt-in e-mail advertising is more commonly charged on a Cost Per Action (CPA) basis.
The Cost Per Impression is often measured using the CPM (Cost Per Thousand; "M" is the Roman numeral for 1,000) metric. (A CPM is the cost of one thousand (1,000) impressions.)
CPM is considered the optimal form of selling online advertising from the publisher's point of view. A publisher gets paid for each ad that is shown.
This type of advertising arrangement closely resembles Television and Print Advertising Methods for speculating the cost of an Advertisement. Often, industry agreed approximates are used. With Television the Nielsen Ratings are used and Print is based on the circulation a publication has.
For Online Advertising, the numbers of views can be a lot more precise. When a user requests a Web Page, the originating server creates a log entry. Also, a third party tracker can be placed in the web page to verify how many accesses that page had.
CPM and/or Flat rate advertising deals are preferred by the Publisher/Webmaster because they will get paid regardless of any action taken.
For Advertisers a Performance Based system is preferred. There are two methods for Paying for Performance: 1) CPA - Cost per Action/Acquisition and 2) CPC - Cost per Click Through.
5. Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing is a method of promoting web businesses in which an affiliate is rewarded for every visitor, subscriber, customer, and/or sale provided through his/her efforts. It is a modern variation of the practice of paying a finder's fee for the introduction of new clients to a business. Compensation may be made based on a certain value for each visit (Pay per click), registrant (Pay per lead), or a commission for each customer or sale (Pay per sale), or any combination.
Merchants like affiliate marketing because it is a "pay for performance model", meaning the merchant does not incur a marketing expense unless results are realized.
Some e-commerce sites run their own affiliate programs while other e-commerce vendors use third party services provided by intermediaries to track traffic or sales that are referred from affiliates. Some businesses owe much of their growth and success to this marketing technique, although research has shown in general the increase to be approximately 15-20% of online revenue.
Merchants who are considering adding an affiliate strategy to their online sales channel have different technological solutions available to them. Some types of affiliate management solutions include: standalone software, hosted services, shopping carts with affiliate features, and third party affiliate networks.
Revenue generated online grew quickly. The e-commerce website, viewed as a marketing toy in the early days of the web, became an integrated part of the overall business plan and in some cases grew to a bigger business than the existing offline business. Many companies hired outside affiliate management companies to manage the affiliate program.
6. Online Reputation Management
Online reputation management is a developing field that encompasses public relations and search engine optimization.
Consumers go online to make buying decisions. When they research brands using search engines, the results that they observe often influence how they behave. Consumer generated media sites offer the general public the opportunity to express their views of brands. This information can be found in search engine results. Members of the public such as competitors, and ex-employees can take part in the online conversation which can adversely affect the brand reputation.
Online reputation management is a field that involves the monitoring of online conversation, and the action undertaken, to improved brand reputation within search engine results.
These components are extremely crucial in order to successfully marketing your products and services online. With the right Online Marketing firm, your company can see exponential growth with a highly satisfactory return on investment. The most rewarding aspect of online marketing is the brand recognition that comes with your campaign. The actually campaign effectiveness can be tracked in terms of dollars through ROI calculations. However, this is would be pert of short–term success. The long–term benefit of a well executed online marketing campaign will positively build your brand and provide added recognition within your industry. The affects of this are priceless!

How To Quickly Attract Traffic
How To Quickly Attract Traffic And Generate Sales
How To Quickly Attract Traffic And Generate Sales
By Matt Hockin
So... you’ve got a great product (or service) and your website is now optimized to be a sales conversion machine. Now it’s time for the next piece of the puzzle... getting targeted visitors to your website so they’ll buy.
This article covers the most effective methods for getting a quick surge of immediate traffic to your site. Plus, you'll learn the most effective methods for building long-term, sustainable traffic and getting top rankings in the search engines.
Step 1: Announce your Site with a Press Release
A simple 1-page press release can be the most powerful marketing tool in your arsenal. Why? Because a press release is an effective way to get your news distributed across the internet news channels for generating market awareness, in-bound links for SEO and new visitors to your website.
Launch your site (or newly re-designed site) with a "BANG!" by first sending out a press release to your industry’s media via personalized email and across the internet news channels (Google News, Yahoo News, etc.) by way of PRWeb.com or PRleap.com. Be sure to use the correct format for your press release as outlined here: Press release format
Step 2: Start Up a Pay-Per-Click Campaign
The very best way to create instant and sustainable traffic is through pay-per-click (PPC) search engine advertising with Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing Solutions and MSN adCenter. In fact, according to the Jupiter Media Metrix "Online Advertising Effectiveness" study, advertisers are receiving the highest return-on-investment from pay-per-click search when compared to other forms of advertising.
But, before you jump into the competitive arena of PPC advertising you'll need to do a couple things to ensure you’ll get a positive return on your investment (instead of running up big credit card bills!). To win with PPC you need to make absolutely sure your website converts visitors to sales. Use the strategies outlined here to increase landing page conversion rates: Landing Pages strategies.
When starting out, set a budget you can live with and have a back-end product on your site to at least pay your break-even costs for the PPC advertising. Make sure your website is set up for collecting leads as well to ensure your PPC advertising pays off in the short-term and long-term.
Step 3: Create and Launch a Free (or low-cost) Blog
After your PPC campaign is set up and making you a profit, now it’s time to do the things that will really build your business and give you a healthy ROI over the long-term week-after-week and year-after-year. Now it’s time to build your natural search engine rankings and traffic with the most powerful search engine optimization tactic available today… Blogging.
Having a blog allows you to use the powerful “Blog and Ping” method of getting keyword optimized back-links to your website for SEO and it’s also a good way to generate sustained traffic from the “Blogosphere.” We accomplish this by creating a blog and submitting it to hundreds of blog directories such as Technorati, Digg, etc.
You can start your blog today by signing up for a free Blogger account, or for just few hundred bucks you can have a pro build you a WordPress Blog with all the “bells 'n whistles.”
After your blog is ready to launch, submit your blog's RSS feed to the RSS feed submission sites and directories here: Blog Directories This can take over 6 hours to do, but the results are great. Just submit your url to as many blog directories as you can and you'll receive a bunch of one way links and good rankings in the search engines. If you’re short on time or don’t know where to submit your blog, click here or hire a pro.
If you want to maximize the links and traffic you receive from your blogging efforts, consistently posting at least 2 to 3 blog posts per week will REALLY help increase your traffic.
Step 4: Submit your Website to the Internet Directories
Links are the fundamental building blocks of the Internet and Search Engine Optimization. Having links pointing to your site is what makes your site visible and are vital to ranking high in the search engines. Getting your site submitted to the Internet directories like Open Directory dmoz.org and others is a great way to build you a foundation of keyword optimized links and tap into a new source of qualified visitors.
Like the blog directories, submitting to the Internet directories can take over 6 hours to do, but the results are great. Just submit your url to as many Internet directories as you can and you'll receive a bunch of one way links and good rankings in the search engines. If you're pressed for time, outsource this work and pay someone to submit your website to the list here: Internet Directories.
Step 5: Write and Submit Expert Articles
Writing expert articles and getting them published on other sites is the ultimate online marketing strategy. Why? Because your well-written articles can be used for the following advantages:
* Generating one-way in-bound links for boosting your search rankings;
* Attracting laser-targeted "ready to buy" visitors to your website;
* Positioning you as THE expert in your industry or market.
So every week write and submit an article to your industry’s websites, media, and the article syndication websites. For more information about article syndication see: "Authority Sites"
Be Consistent and Persistent
If you invest just 2 hours a day for 2 weeks implementing these marketing tactics you’ll see a big return on investment in the form of increased sales. For example, if you stick with this plan you'll have thousands of links pointing to your website and a bunch of traffic due to your search engine rankings and one way links within just a few weeks. If you continue using these methods, you can dominate your market and double or even quadruple your profits.
NOTICE: If you think this all sounds like work… well IT IS! No goal worth accomplishing will happen for you without a little "elbow grease." But to sweeten the deal, there is a way to make this pay off even bigger for you. This is done by simply thinking bigger.
For example, the best way to market your website and business is to become a trusted source of content and information in your industry. More specifically... the best way to do this is to write a book or an ebook! Set aside 1-2 hours a day writing content, and as you’re writing your book you’ll also be using the content for posting to your blog, writing and distributing your articles and adding keyword optimized content to your website.
In other words, you’ll be building your business while writing your book! When your book is done in 3-12 months you’ll have another profit source, plus your book will make you a recognized expert in your industry which can be leveraged to get you a big share of the market.
By the way...this is exactly how you leave your competition in the dust:
1. By setting your company up as THE best choice in your market by offering valuable content and tips;
2. And then getting your message in front of your target market through strategies like blogging, distributing press releases and articles, adding keyword optimized content to your site, and setting up your autoresponder to follow-up with your website visitors, etc.
Conclusion:
PPC, Press Releases, Blogs, Articles and Search Engine Optimization are today's most effective methods for generating a quick surge of immediate traffic to your site as well as long-term sustainable traffic for building your business. If you consistently use these marketing tactics you will see a big return on investment in the form of increased sales.

A Day in the Life of a Search Engine Friendly Web Page
In a previous article (which I cannot link to here) I wrote that a search engine friendly website is not the same as a search engine optimized website. I'm using that as a jump off point for this article on the topic of building a search engine friendly website. The purpose is to simply highlight a few of the aspects that comprise a SE friendly (not necessarily optimized) website.
The Domain Name
For this series I figured we'd start at the top: the domain name. Many argue about the value of using keywords in the domain name and whether that will make any difference at all in the ranking algorithms. My opinion is if it does make a difference, it's not much. But I also believe that the full process of optimization is largely about doing a whole lot of "not much".
The smartest thing to do is make sure your business name uses your keywords. And no, I don't mean you should name your business No Doc Home Mortgage Loans Company. But if you sell mortgages it makes sense to use mortgages in your name, being sure you can secure the domain name as well.
Since there is really not a lot you can do to "optimize" your domain or even make it search engine friendly so I'll leave you with links to series of articles I've written previously on Securing a Marketing Rich Domain Name. That'll give you some food for thought.
Title and Meta Tags
To reiterate again, I'm making a distinction here between "search engine optimized" and "search engine friendly." They are two very different things. Making your website search engine friendly is largely a one-time task, while optimization of that website is an ongoing process. But in order to be effective with the optimization, your site must first be search engine friendly.
This installment I'll focus on the Title and meta tags, most specifically the description meta, but this can include the keyword meta, though that one is largely irrelevant.
I can pretty much sum up search friendliness of the Title tag and meta description as being two things
1. They are present
2. They are unique
You might be surprised to find how how often number one is not done, even by experienced web developers. About a year ago we signed a client for SEO only to find that their programmers did not create a way to program a unique title for each page. But it gets worse. They didn't even program a way to add any text whatsoever into the title tag. Their code looked like this:
One of the first changes we requested was to add a title to their pages to which they told us that such functionality is not available and it will take a few months before the programmers can add that functionality. Can we say, "Your Fired?"
They chose not to fire their programmers so we fired them!
Many ecommerce systems we see use a global title tag across all pages. Well, step one is complete, the title is present. But now each of those titles needs to be unique for each page in order to accurately represent the content of the individual page each is on.
When working with a database system, the smartest (read: most search engine friendly) thing to do is not to just make the title and meta tags editable for each page, but to allow for unique default verbiage to be automatically generated for the pages until keyword optimized text is created.
When looking a potential client's website the other day we were concerned when we saw that the title tags of each page looked to be typical default text. We contacted the developers to find out if these were editable and sure enough, they gave me the answer I was looking for. They are editable for each page but default text is in place until those fields are edited by the client. Perfect!
If you don't use a e-commerce system for your website then you simply want to go add unique title tags, description tags and possible keyword tags to each page. Don't worry so much about using keywords, that'll be your SEO's job, but for now, just make these elements search engine friendly by getting them in place.
Code Bloat
Code bloat is one of my minor amusements when I'm evaluating websites. I enjoy looking at the source code of a web page and then scrolling down to see how long the code for the page is and mentally compare it to how long it should be. What I really enjoy most is when I see a really well designed page with very little code. That makes me happy, but then I'm pretty easily amused anyway!
I'm not a coder myself, so if you ask me to develop a web page I'm going to use a program such as Dreamweaver to build it. But just because I can't develop code on my own, doesn't mean I don't know how to strip down the unnecessary junk from HTML in order to produce a cleaner coded page.
The problem with programs such as Dreamweaver is that they don't always create the best or most streamlined coding structure. Unfortunately, many professional designers don't even know enough about code to go in and fix what these development programs create. To be fair to Dreamweaver, it isn't even close to the biggest offender of code bloat. That title, from my experience, goes to any product from Microsoft. Especially those programs with a "turn this into a web page" feature. (If you ever want to see some of the worst code imaginable, create a "web page" using Microsoft Word.)
What does code bloat have to do with search engine friendliness?
Reducing code bloat no only cuts down on page download time, but it also makes it easier on the search engines as well. When spidering a page the search engines pull the entire code (or the first 100kb) of the page. Only later is that information parsed. By reducing download time the spiders, which are already fast, can burn through many more pages more quickly, quite possibly indexing more pages than they would otherwise.
Once the pages have been spidered, the reduced code then makes it easier for the engine to parse the data. While engines have gotten much better about getting through the junk code, reducing the amount of code they have to sort through will only streamline their processes and potentially giving you an additional, albeit insignificant, advantage. Of course, we can argue about this all day, but the powers behind the search engines have stated numerous times over the years that anything site owners can do to make the spider's job easier, the better. Take that however you want.
There are a number of things you can do to reduce the code bloat of your website.
CSS
CSS has many benefits for programmers. For this article the most relevant one is that CSS greatly reduces the amount of code on your page. This is especially true if you use external CSS files but we'll get to that in a bit. First and foremost, however is that CSS can be used to eliminate duplicate on-page styles from the code. I'll provide links to some how-to CSS references but for now, just know that the amount of code that can be replaced using CSS instead of tags is pretty significant.
One of the other great things about CSS is that none of it actually has to be in the page code itself, but can be called from an external CSS file. The web browser simply has to download the file once and then that CSS document will apply to every page on the website (assuming only one CSS document is used.)
JavaScript
JavaScript itself is not a code saver but what you can do, like your CSS file, is move the JavaScript into an external file. Again, just like CSS, that single JavaScript file will then be used for every page it is required to function on without having any additional download. Moving the JavaScript off the page reduces code length and page download time significantly.
There are a lot of other ways to reduce code bloat and increase page download time. Some of these include compressing images, using text instead of images, removing nested tables, etc. I don't need to go into all of these just so long as you understand that bloated code simply isn't necessary and the benefits of reducing and eliminating garbage code is worthwhile.
Headings
Some SEOs will argue whether using keywords in Hx tags actually helps your search engine rankings. I'm going to bypass that argument because there is an altogether different reason for using proper heading tags. Simply put, it helps the search engines understand the relative importance of different textual areas of the page.
Many sites are content with just using a bold or maybe a bit larger font for their paragraph headings. But that tells the search engine very little other than that particular line is of slightly more relevance. After all, any text can be bolded, colored different, or be made bigger in order to create various inflections of tone, page scanability, or to call out certain points that are helpful. But ultimately, these things weigh small in the overall scheme of things.

1. Lead generation
2. Selling products online
3. Brand building
Managed search engine marketing takes into consideration all these key elements for ranking purposes. This gives you instant targeted traffic and builds up lots of cost effective targeted traffic over time.
The process of SEM-enabling a website includes both online and off line initiatives such as optimizing a website for search engine crawlers (search engine optimization, or SEO), managing paid listings and inclusions, submitting to directories, and pursuing link building programs.
Managed search engine marketing provides solutions to website owners that help to deliver traffic and customer leads while supplying tracking performance. The most popular way for people to find information on the Internet is through search engines. Search engine positioning experts help their clients to take advantage of top placement through keyword searches. Website design through content enhancement and by adding search engine friendly pages can help a website achieve higher rankings. Through analysis, marketing companies offer quality services that get a website the exposure it needs to grow and realize profits through website design, content and keywords.
You have built a website for your business. Are you getting the business you had hoped for? Now all you need are visitors, sales, and satisfied customers. Is your website doing all this well? A complete managed search engine marketing services would provide you with necessary techniques to helm your business. A completely managed search engine marketing service is based on constant and proactive management - as opposed to the reactive, project-based approach that is the industry norm today.
Before one can fully understand the importance and necessity of implementing a managed search engine marketing program into their marketing mix, it is important to look first at the phenomenal statistics regarding Internet use.
Search engine marketing is a new marketing method in the world of Internet marketing. Search engine marketing is about high web rankings, effective key phrases, qualified traffic, and measurable results. Search engine marketing is not just getting visitors to your site; it is getting bottom line results, sales, leads, subscribers. This marketing technique helps to bring up your site in the search results and to the customers and clients around the world. Under the broad category of search engine marketing, there are different methods which bring up revenue directly or indirectly.
A good marketing company would have search engine positioning experts on its staff that desire to learn about a client's company through consultation, determining the best options that provide the greatest advantage. They will also take into consideration a company's budget and cost constraints when determining the best way to obtain higher rankings with engines. Evaluation of a website will help to see where enhancements need to be made for organic listings to bring optimal results. Daily performance reviews should be conducted to ensure that desired results are being maintained.
Choosing keywords that best describe products and web content is essential for generating web traffic and providing access to search engine spiders. Research, selection, and placement of keywords need to be given careful consideration through search engine positioning experts. Keywords may be placed within a title, a domain name, first sentence of first paragraph, text link, heading, or even at the bottom of a page and the more specific they are the better, to narrow choices of viewers thus driving more traffic to a website. Don't force keywords but instead use them to add quality to an article and try to maintain an average of a 3% ratio with keywords in comparison to total word content per article.
Effectively planned and managed search engine marketing programs can deliver tremendous results in the form of brand building and lead generation for B2B marketers. The most powerful SEM programs are tightly integrated with other marketing efforts—both off line (e.g., print, radio, trade shows) and online (e.g., email marketing, banner ads)—so target messages and offers are repeatedly presented to important audiences, no matter the medium.
A managed approach to search engine marketing is not simply about long-term commitments, fixed price budgets, reporting tools etc; these are just a few features - but they are certainly not the key benefits.

Website Optimization For Search Engines
When Internet was tightening its grip over the marketing field, Yahoo was the undisputed king of search engines. But when Google came into being, it became far more popular than the others because of its precise search engine techniques. Today, more than 30% of Internet users take Google into account as it gives you better results than the other search engines. All three major search engines namely Google, Yahoo and MSN, have different algorithms for ranking high in their lists. Ranking high in all three is not an easy, if you rank good at one of the search engine than it doesn't ensures that you would rank well in the other.
Performing SEO for all three search engines is not an easy job at all, it was thought that those pages which having nice rankings on Yahoo, were not ranking high on Google. This lead the SEO companies think that both the search engines had totally opposite algorithms. Hence, when they tried to optimize the sites for both, their sites were nowhere on the rankings in any of the search engines.
This is for sure that both search engines have a constantly changing and different algorithm for ranking these sites, and it is not publicly available by any of the author. Of all the differences, the keywords in the title and URL are most important. If your site contains keywords at these two places you have a sure shot position on the first page of these search engines. Similarly, keyword density is very important, the higher the density more better for your sites. But this can pose a problem for you on Google, because if you want to rank high with this philosophy, your site may soon be banned at Google.

Keyword Research - Articles & Website Content
How to Optimize Your Website Content for Google
There are a variety of things to do in order to optimize your website so you can receive organic website traffic from Google. When doing keyword research – articles and website content alike, it is very important that you find a high searched, low competitive keyword for your domain name. This will increase the chances of Google putting your website on the first page of their results.
Also be sure to put the keywords in the h1 title tags and throughout the whole article. If you have any sub-domains, be sure to put keywords in those as well. All this will increase the chances of Google crawlers to indexing your webpage, and ultimately putting you in the top of search results for that keyword.
If you’re writing articles to attract Google
When you find a great keyword that you would love to use for the search engines, make sure you put the keyword throughout the article, especially in the beginning of the article. When you do this Google crawlers will see your article as a highly authoritative webpage on that particular subject. It is very important that you keyword optimize every single one of your articles.
What are the best tools for keyword research
The best tools for keyword research would probably be the overture keyword suggestion tool. Just type in “overture keyword suggestion tool” in the google search and it should show up. It can be inaccurate from time to time however. The best tool I have come across is probably Brad Callen’s: Keyword Elite. Make sure you do all the research you can before you invest money in a keyword tool.

The fourth step to internet search engine marketing involves the submission of your website url to a bunch of the search directories and web directories online. This will improve the number of one way backlinks to your website, thus improving your search engine ranking.
The fifth step of internet search engine marketing involves the continual building of one way back links to your website. If You Are Serious About Wanting To Drive Targeted Traffic To Your Website, You MUST Learn How To Attract Prospects and Buyers From The Search Engines
And here’s why…
FACT: Over 85% of New Visitors To A Website Get There Via A Search Engine (Source: Georgia Institute of Technology)
In other words, over 85 out of 100 new visitors to a website finds out about the website because the website is ‘listed’ in search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN.
There are two methods to get a website ‘listed’ in the search engines:
1. Pay-Per-Click Marketing (PPC) via Paid Search Results
2. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) via Top 10 Organic Search Results
What is Pay Per Click Marketing?
Pay-per-click marketing is an online advertising method offered by several advertising networks and search engines, the most popular being Google’s AdWords program.
Advertisers can choose to display a PPC ad in Google’s search engines, whenever a relevant search term is searched for. These PPC ads are displayed as ‘Paid Search Results’ (see screenshot above)
In addition to Google’s search engines, advertisers also have the option of displaying their ads in Google’s search networks, and publisher’s networks.
Google’s AdWords program is free to join and all you require is a credit card to get started.
Google AdWords, Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly Overture) and MSN AdCenter are the three largest PPC network operators.
Benefits of Pay Per Click Marketing
Pay-Per-Click Marketing has a number of distinct advantages over the more traditional online advertising media like banner ads, and even offline advertising mediums like radio and TV. Here's why:
· Immediacy. Your ads can appear on the first page of the search engine within 15 minutes.
· Cost Effective. Cost is incurred only when your ad is clicked on and someone visits your site. This is a big departure from traditional media where the ad is paid for whether it is viewed or not.
· Wide-Exposure. Eight out of ten web sessions begin with a search at a search engine. Pay-per-click advertising guarantees your ads are displayed when prospects search for your product or service.
· Relevant. Your ads only show up for keywords specify. In addition, you can even specify the countries you wish to display your ads. This reduces increased ad relevancy and effectiveness
· Controllable. You can control how much you bid on each key word and limit how much you spend on your ad budget each day. You can ramp up, ramp down, turn on or turn off campaigns at a moment’s notice. You have tight control over budgetary spend and allows you to tie your PPC campaign spending with other marketing activities.
· Measurable. Your pay-per-click campaigns can be assessed via reports on a regular basis ensuring that the cost of acquiring a client does not exceed your pre-set limits
· Higher Conversion. PPC ads enjoy higher conversion rates compared to other advertising mediums because a PPC ad is displayed only when a relevant keyword is searched for.
In fact, Google asked their PPC advertisers to rate all forms of advertising they've used and/or are currently using. The results showed that satisfaction with Google AdWords PPC system is up to 57% higher than all other marketing media.

What Is Search Engine Optimisation?
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is a very powerful online strategy used to achieve high rankings of web pages in search engines for relevant search terms with the aim of driving targeted online visitors to a website.
Simply speaking, the idea behind the technical jargon of SEO is to make the search for net users as easy as possible so they can find relevant information in an easy manner. In other words, the process of SEO is actually to prepare and promote a website so it's featured well against relevant keywords on a search engine.
A properly executed SEO strategy will result in more targeted visitors to a website – visitors who are looking for products and services that a website offers. And in the long run, SEO will provide website owners with the lowest cost of traffic acquisition, compared with other forms of online advertising, since once a website achieve good rankings for targeted search terms, it is likely it will continue to do so in the foreseeable future and only minimal effort is required to ensure a website maintains its search engine rankings.
In addition, a successful SEO campaign will allow a website to position itself to achieve maximum search engine visibility. It will allow website owners to reach out to a new group of online visitors, internationally.
With more than half of the world’s population having access to the internet, and over 90% of online visitors using search engines to locate their desired information, product or service, achieving targeted exposure to search engine visitors now forms an essential part of most company’s marketing and branding strategy.
Benefits of Search Engine Optimisation
Unlike Pay-Per-Click advertising, a properly executed SEO campaign will result in attracting not only targeted traffic, but also long-term sustainable traffic to a website from search engines – all without having to pay the search engines for the traffic generated.
Ultimately the goal of SEO is to increase the volume of free targeted traffic to a website with the aim of increasing online exposure and sales.
Visitors to your website will be those that have actively searched for your products or services, and optimising your website for search engines will allow it to reach its’ full potential.
There are many other benefits of Search Engine Optimisation, but the core reasons to have your website optimized for the search engines are to:
· Increase targeted traffic to your web site
· Increase your company's presence on the internet.
· Wider exposure to attract visitors from all over the world
· Higher volume of sales from your website.
· And a high return on investment.
In developing your traffic generation strategy for your website, you can choose a PPC or SEO approach – or BOTH PPC and SEO at the same time!
Why Use Both PPC And SEO To Drive Traffic To Your Website?
Because each method has its own key strength!:
For PPC, it is SPEED – i.e. the ability to have your website exposed to literally hundreds and thousands of visitors in as little as 15 minutes.
For SEO, it is ZER0-COST – i.e. the ability to drive targeted traffic to your website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year – all for FREE!
When you employ both PPC and SEO traffic generation techniques to your web business, you benefit from the ‘best of both approaches’.
PPC allows you to drive traffic to your website quickly, while providing you with critical data to analyse - so you can identify the most profitable keywords for your web business e.g. whether ‘canon camcorders’ versus ‘canon video camera’ generated more sales.
Once you have identified the list of profitable keywords for your website, the next step is to use SEO techniques to get your web pages ranked in the Top 10 of search engines.
If you are excited about the prospect of being able to drive laser-targeted traffic from the search engines but don’t know where to start, I’ve great news for you!
